How to Edit the Comparative Agendas Project website
To make changes to this website, a current owner has to 'share' the website with you.
1. Send me (John Wilkerson) your email address so that I can add you to my list -Google will send you an invitation -You will need to create a google account, Using the same email address you sent to me, and a password of your choosing 2. Go to the Comparative Agendas website http://www.comparativeagendas.org -scroll to the bottom of the page, click on 'sign in' -enter your email address where it says: Don't have an account at LegSim: Legislative Simulator? 3. Once you have logged in, go back to: http://www.comparativeagendas.orgIf you have done things correctly, there will be very obvious 'create new page' and 'edit page' buttons at the top of the website.
Edit a website page Select the page that you want to edit, and then click the 'edit page' button You should now have a different view and a menu of editing options, including the option to upload a photo! After you have edited, 'save' your changes. Create a new page You may want to add a new page to the website. For example, suppose that you think that there need to be a link on the sidebar to 'publications.' To do this, select 'create a new page' put a name for the page at the top and click 'save.' The page now exists, but you won't see a link on the sidebar. Click 'edit sidebar' (far left), then 'edit' under Navigation, then 'add page to sidebar navigation' When you are done, click 'OK' then 'Save Changes' then 'Return to Site' Uploading Documents While you are logged into the website, you should see a 'documents' link at the top of your browser. If you want to add a document (e.g. a word file) to the website, you do this by: -upload the document to your documents folder -select the tab in your browser that takes you back to the CAP website -select the page where you want the document to be located and click 'edit page' -choose 'insert' 'document' and select it The cool thing here is that if you edit the document, the changes automatically populate to the website You can also upload spreadsheets, but I am still puzzling over .pdfs. The can be uploaded but I can't yet get them to display to the website |
